As of this year, I've been in camp for four years and not once have I felt that I haven't belonged. Through Camp Fiesta I've made friends and memories that I'll never forget. Every year I count the days for camp with a smile on my face. Every year has brought new friends that by the end of the week become part of my family. From going to the theme parks to just cabin time with my counselors and fellow campers, I look forward to all of it. The people I've met through this camp brighten my day and if not for this singular week, I would never be as close to them. Camp Fiesta is a place where kids can bond and most importantly feel safe. As I finish this, I hope you notice I never mentioned the word cancer, and it's not because I forgot, Camp Fiesta is just a place where none of it matters;
kids can just be kids – Camper
Camp has been an exciting ride! ( including the rides at the parks) Since my first year, I have fallen in love with camp. The people are kind and caring and I have never once felt left out or unwanted. Our counselors are the best. They are thoughtful, trustworthy, compassionate, and kind. This is a space that I can share my cancer experience with people who understand and can share theirs. Camp Fiesta helped me be more confident. Camp Fiesta healed me and hundreds of people better than any treatments because the real care is community. - Camper
Camp means to me, new friends, funny moments, happiness, laughing, and having fun! Camp Fiesta has been one of my favorite camps to go to in my life! I came in 2024, I didn't know who these people were but now they are called friends! - Camper
Camp Fiesta is truly a place like no other. You never have to try and fit in because everyone already understands you. Having fun every day and meeting new people is truly a gift that I wasn't expecting. I have never met people who are so accepting. I truly love this place like no other, and look forward to each year. Seeing and hugging every member of this wonderful family is my ultimate highlight of these past summers. My experience at Camp Fiesta has been amazing and just one of the most joyful experiences I have had. From the moment I stepped foot at this camp everyone welcomed me like family. They took care of me, they made me happy and most of all they related with me about my journey. When I felt bad, they immediately came to take care of me and do all they could to get me feeling the best I possibly can. The staff here is absolutely amazing. They are so kind, caring and fun. They understandably just get everything we've been through and I think that makes it easier to talk to them. All the activities we do just make you feel like you are so related to and they give you a break from the cancer world! I am so happy and grateful to be able to come to this camp! - Camper
Camp Fiesta is incomprehensible unless you experience it firsthand. The ability to step foot into the campgrounds for the first day and leave as a member of a family of campers, counselors and staff who understand a fundamental part of your life in addition to all of the little things that make you, you is so incredibly rare. Each summer, I would come to camp worried that in the past year, a part of the magic would fade, but it never did. This family raised me, supported me inside and outside of the campsite and made me a better human. Now, as a counselor, I feel so lucky that I am able to give back and pay it forward to the next generation. Watching my campers grow up is an immense privilege. Witnessing firsthand how our campers face their fears, open up and are unapologetically themselves with everyone here is the greatest gift of the many gifts camp has given me. Camp is a reminder of the beauty that can emerge after something terrible, and the family that can be formed by people who care. It keeps us going through the highs and lows of life. Everyone comes with their own lived experiences and hardships, but here we see how love truly is the answer. – Counselor
Thank you and everyone at Camp Fiesta for making this such an incredible experience for my daughter. This will definitely be one of those core memories for her. From the time we picked her up, she cannot stop talking about camp, her friends and all of you. She even got teary eyed just describing how at home she felt and that she misses everyone so much. She says she never knew who she was after cancer until this week. Thank you doesn't seem sufficient. You are all amazing humans.
